Abstract
The issue-focused model of group mental health consultation was utilized with a group of ten child-care workers of children 1-6 years old, whereas ten others were used as a control group. The results indicate that the experimental group participants demonstrated a marked improvement in their professional behavior and expressed a more positive attitude toward their occupation, whereas the control group subjects showed little change. These results support the effectiveness of the issue-focused model, but call for special attention to organizational factors when introducing new interventions.
