Abstract
The variations in plasticity among the fibers of single staples of New Zealand Lincoln, New Zealand Romney, and Australian merino wools are associated with follicles of different types and ages. Primary follicles produce fibers of lower plasticity than those of secondary follicles, and the order of plasticity of the fibers is, in general, the inverse of the order of development of the follicles.
