Abstract
The relative extents to which untreated and shrink-resistant fabrics become yellow in boiling dyebaths have been assessed. Most shrink-resist treatments increase the susceptihility to yellowing, but additive processes, in which a polymer is deposited on the wool, actually decrease the amount of yellowing which occurs in the dyebath. Two commercial products, which are claimed to minimize yellowing during dyeing, have been examined.
