Abstract
An analysis of various types of forces acting on a single fiber in an electrostatic spinning process is presented. It is found that Coulomb and mirror-image forces relative to others are'the largest in their magnitudes. The role of each type of force in the orientation, parallelization, separation, and transportation of fibers in the electric field is discussed. Theoret ical results obtained can be extremely useful in the design of a successful electrostatic spinning machine.
