Abstract
The ESR spectra produced by persulfate treatment of chemically modified wools have been examined in order to ascertain the location of the oxidative attack. It has been shown that some of the free radicals produced are located at the cystyl and tyrosyl residues, while other evidence suggests that tryptophan is also a most probable site for free-radical formation.
