Abstract
The evolution of methods for the manufacture of coated fabrics has fol lowed a sequence as the three main classes of raw materials became avail able, commencing with vegetable oils and leading to the modern synthetic resins. Much of the current technique follows closely some of the practices de scribed in these articles. The following article deals with the development of oilcloth. Processes for coating textiles with rubber and with the pyroxylin coatings will be described in an early issue of TEXTILE RESEARCH.
