Abstract
The insectproofing effects of various classes of surface-active agents applied to wool have been studied. Nonionic compounds had little insectproofing effect. Both anionic and cationic compounds were effective alone, but not in combination. A linear C14-15 alkylbenzene sulfonic acid gave the most effective and durable protection and may be applied by dyebath or padding methods.
