Abstract
The type of recovery behavior to be expected from a previously presented model for fabric bending and creasing is examined. This model consists of a generalized linear viscoelastic element in parallel with a frictional element. The linear viscoelastic element is characterized by the bending relaxation rigidity B( tA, T), a function of relaxation time T and absolute time tA, and the frictional element by the frictional moment Mo. The model should be relevant to the wrinkling and recovery of certain fabrics under constant conditions and under conditions of changing temperature and relative humidity. Two examples of the application of this model are presented.
