Abstract
The analysis of stress and displacement fields within a fabric roll is presented as a continuation of Part I of this series of papers. A discrete continuum model is used again to describe fabric deformation during the roll-making ( batching ) operation. The roll of fabric is considered to be in a state of plane stress, and the fabric is assumed to be anisotropic. The rotational speed of the fabric roll during the batching operation or the resultant fabric winding speed is considered as a parameter in the analysis. The effects of fabric winding speed on the state of stresses inside the roll is investigated, as is the problem of nonlinear lateral compressional behavior of the fabric.
