Abstract
Differences in the microstructures of viscose rayon fibers, especially the differences between the outer and inner layers in fibers of one type, constitute the subject of this investigation. Layers are progressively removed by chemical action. The density and extent of swelling in water are measured before and after each removal. In this second paper of the series, the method itself is explained in some detail, with a view toward a better insight into the proper interpretation of the results.
