Abstract

Two numerical models, drilled- and slot-type manifolds, are developed in this paper to investigate the influence of the manifold geometry on the flow performance. The flow properties, at the operating pressure of 8–12 MPa, are simulated and analyzed by numerical simulation. The results indicate that manifold geometry has significant effects on the distribution of velocity and pressure, as well as the discharge velocity in the whole working width of the hydroentangling equipment. In the range of this study, the drilled-type geometry is better than slot type, with more uniform velocity and pressure distribution.
