Large Deflection of Viscoelastic Fiber Beams

Abstract

The large deflection of a viscoelastic beam under a combined load was investigated. As the problem involves geometrical nonlinearity, the derived governing equation is the type of nonlinear integro-differential equation that generally requires numerical solution to determine the large deflection. Numerical solution of large deflection of a viscoelastic tapered beam under a combined load consisting of a distributed triangular load and a concentrated vertical load at its free end was obtained by using Runge—Kutta method and is presented in a tabulated form.
