Abstract
The orientation density function of spunbounded nonwoven fabric is defined and theoretically derived in this paper. The density function is allowed to vary according to such variables as the feeding velocity of filaments, the moving velocity of the conveyor belt, and the oscillating velocity of the aspirator, all of which affect the manufacturing process of spunbonded nonwoven fabric. The number of fibers oriented in the crossmachine direction increases as the oscillating velocity of the aspirator accelerates. The velocity of the moving conveyor belt significantly increases the number of fibers oriented to the machine direction. The derived density function is used to estimate the orientation distribution of spunbonded nonwoven fabric according to different values of variables, and it may help to design the mechanical properties of spunbonded nonwoven fabric.
