Abstract
Carding wastes can be reduced on the average by about one-half (23/4 % of lap weight) without lowering yarn appearance or yarn strength. Flat strips and motes and fly comprise about 3/4 of the total carding wastes; it is in the control of these wastes that the greatest saving is realized.
