Abstract
The absorption of aluminum ions by wool keratin is increased in the presence of alcohols. However, the absorption is complicated by various factors, including the complexity of the Al species existing in the solution, the effect of the alcohol in modifying diffusion in the bath and in the fiber, and the effect of the alcohol on wool as a solvent. The data presented show that similarities exist between this and other solvent-assisted wool treatments.
