Abstract
Three instruments designed to measure anomia were factor analyzed, yielding a 12 item unidimensional scale. Four hundred and eighty-six disadvantaged adults from 12 North Carolina communities were the subjects. The refined combination scale is presented as of potential usefulness for research on the effects of educational intervention on anomia.
