Abstract
A novel method is proposed to suppress carbody lateral vibration caused by carbody hunting instability by configuring the equipment suspended on the carbody underframe as a dynamic vibration absorber (DVA). Since the relatively constant nature of the carbody hunting frequency, the equipment is designed to have the capability to absorber vibrations at this frequency. Firstly, an experimental investigation on carbody vibration of a high-speed railway train with hunting instability is introduced as the research background. Subsequently, a carbody lateral vibration model is established and optimal parameters are explored to clarify the inhibitory mechanism of the suspended equipment on carbody lateral vibration. Moreover, a dynamics simulation model is devised to replicate the hunting instability phenomenon in the field, validating the efficacy of the suspended equipment in suppressing carbody vibration. Finally, some discussions are conducted and a multi-objective optimization method is proposed to balance the dynamics performance of both the carbody and the equipment. The comprehensive investigation underscores the feasibility and potential of the proposed method in controlling carbody vibration of high-speed railway trains.
