Observations from the Development and Field Testing of an Instructional Videodisc Program

Abstract

The paper discusses the development and validation of a series of instructional videodiscs. The different procedures used to ensure the incorporation of the characteristics of effective instruction are presented, along with a discussion of the characteristics of the medium. The validation processes placed an emphasis on field test and revision cycles to ensure that student mastery could be consistently achieved by the finished product.
