Abstract
Megalipotherapy is a therapeutic concept that encompasses the global undertaking of treating the obese patient who has various problems induced by overweight and associated pathologies. Megaliposuction is a part of megalipotherapy and is used alone or in association with other surgical procedures. There are physiological problems associated with obesity that require careful evaluation preoperatively. These physiological problems can be worsened following megaliposuction, and there may be serious consequences. Obese patients can be treated with various aspects of megalipotherapy, and weight loss can be maintained without special diet or medication. Medical problems can also be improved.
