Modification of the Nasolabial Crease with Wire Scalpel and Autologous Fat Transfer

Abstract

Introduction: We describe a novel approach to the management of pronounced nasolabial rhytids. Materials and Methods: Two clinical cases of prominent nasolabial creases are reported. Both underwent subcutaneous dissection with wire scalpel with autologous fat transplantation. Photographic documentation, operative reports, and patient records were retrospectively reviewed. Results: Both patients attained a desirable aesthetic outcome. Conclusions: Wire scalpel dissection in conjunction with lipoinjection is an effective means of addressing the prominent nasolabial creases of the aging face.
