Abstract
The mucosa covering the lingual and laryngeal surfaces of the epiglottis offers excellent and readily accessible material for reconstruction of the pharyngoesophagus where large pharyngeal defects need to be repaired. Such defects are often encountered following radical surgery for cancer involving the pyriform sinus, postcricoid area, or cervical esophagus. A case report is presented with illustrations demonstrating this technique.
