Abstract
Chronic aspiration is a serious problem causing significant morbidity that can lead to prolonged hospitalization and death. This paper represents a two-year experience in the surgical treatment of chronic aspiration at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, and the development of an endoscopic, potentially reversible procedure using a laryngeal stent that has proved effective in preventing aspiration.
