Abstract
The study surveyed 442 graduates of the years 1983 through 1987 from 11 four- year hospitality programs dispersed across the United States to ascertain the rate of industry retention and attrition. Graduates were asked to rate the effectiveness of theiracademic training, satisfaction with their hospitality careers, and to assess their industry experience to date. The affect of named factors on job stability and career satisfaction is explored. Frequency distributions and cross tabulations of responses are included. Report contains many of the unedited responses to questions that provided students an opportunity to "send a message" to hospitality educators and industry practitioners.
