Abstract
The use of case incidents has been found to be an effective tool for teaching business concepts to senior hospitality students. With proper classroom manage ment, the case incident can be useful in two ways—as an introduction to a specific topic or theme and as a "real world" example to illustrate previously presented material. Case incidents can be written in a variety of formats including narrative, dialogue, first and third person. This diversity and their brevity, makes them an ideal vehicle for developing the group work and presentation skills necessary for longer, more detailed case study analysis.
