Abstract

This article addresses several issues, including (a) the relationship of research to the development of more effective identification, assessment, and intervention techniques for the young handicapped child; (b) the problems with current assessment techniques; (c) the ways in which assessment procedures may be strengthened; and (d) the development of the Competency Assessment Profile.
