Return to a Hidden Interview - When Social Structures of an Armed Struggle Impose Themselves in a Survey Situation - What brings a researcher to set aside ten hours of interviews and forget some of their contents? The tools of a reflexive and interactional analysis allow us more than ten years later to discover the origins and issues that led to self-censorship of a researcher and the collected material. It was the proposal to consider survey residuals that triggered a return on the trajectory and the story of Pedro, who we met as part of doctoral research on political, territorial and identity inheritance in families of exiles and Chilean retornados. From total commitment to an underground armed struggle to the survey and occultation of the interview by the researcher, it is these social and psychic structures, reanimated by survey relationship, that the article examines.
