Abstract
Although drug abuse funding agencies and community treatment programs espouse the goal of crime reduction through drug treatment, clinical skills for achieving this task have not been satisfactorily developed. This paper proposes a multifaceted system designed to improve the ability of community treatment programs to reduce client criminality. Techniques of diagnosing, evaluating, and treating addict criminality are discussed. Treatment programs arc urged to adopt a proactive and prosocial approach toward criminological issues.
