Abstract
This study focused on NICNET (a nationwide computer-communication network of the National Informatics Center), used for national planning and economic development by the Indian Government. The study was conducted in Karnataka State. The relationship between independent variables - user attitudes towards computers and perceived innovation characteristics of NICNET - with dependent variables of adoption/implementation (user satisfaction and utilization) was examined. Questionnaires were administered to NICNET users all over the state. Regression analysis was carried out to test the hypotheses. Results showed that, of the 20 hypotheses, eight were supported. Seven of these pertained to perceived innovation characteristics and one to attitudes.
