Abstract
Diagnosis is a concept with many labels, and many people in different disciplines or having different viewpoints may choose a particular term to their liking. Some part-synonyms used for discovering ‘what is wrong’ with fellow human beings are assessment, evaluation, task-analysis, investigation, check-up, finding out, observing behavior, problem-solving, etc. We will not be far away from a satisfactory definition of diagnosis if we accept Webster's three versions and slightly modify them. On this basis, a diagnosis is the act or process of deciding the nature of a disorder or disability by examination and through the examination making a careful investigation of the facts to determine the nature or basis of the problem. The final diagnosis is the decision from such an examination or investigation.
