Family Consequences of Parental Dyslexia

Abstract

There exists a growing awareness of the problems surrounding learning disabilities in adults (see Silberberg and Silberberg's Guest Editorial in this issue). Just as learning problems affect nonacademic aspects of a child's life, so do they affect an adult's life. Little research exists on adults with learning disabilities. This case study should serve to sensitize clinicians to the potential family problems which may accompany an adult's learning disability. — G.M.S.
