Abstract
Five factors consistently appear in behaviour ratings: extraversion or surgency, excitability-agreeableness, neuroticism or emotionality or emotional instability, superego strength or conscientiousness, and intellectual activity or culture. Using Cattell's reduced personality sphere, the behaviour ratings of 1,721 elementary school students by 47 first-grade and 47 sixth-grade teachers were analyzed. The analysis produced four of the five factors. The relation to age and gender of the children was explored, as was the semantic interpretation of the factors.
