Computation of Expected Normal and Half Normal Scores by a Recurrence Relation

Abstract

A recurrence formula enables efficient calculation of expected values of order statistics from the standard normal distribution (expected normal scores) and the standard half-normal distribution(expected half-normal, or absolute normal, scores). Computer programs that perform the calculations are described.
