Abstract
A job involvement measure adapted to reflect course involvement was related to biographical data, ability and personality characteristics, and academic performance and satisfaction for a sample of 223 college students. Academic job involvement was unrelated to age, sex, class rank, and tested verbal ability. However, involvement was significantly and positively related to the personality characteristics of resultant achievement motivation, locus of control, and Protestant Ethic attitudes, as well as to academic satisfaction and performance.
