Abstract
The predictive validity of the Stanford Early School Achievement Test (SESAT) was examined. A sample of 172 first grade children was pretested with the SESAT and posttested with the Stanford Achievement Test (SAT). Results demonstrated moderate validity of the SESAT for predicting first grade achievement. The SESAT was more valid as a predictor of verbal achievement than it was as a predictor of mathematics achievement.
