Abstract
With the literature containing many item analysis and test analysis computer programs as well as programs for computing standard scores, GUIDCOUN offers a comprehensive alternative. Completing its performance on one run, the present program, written in FORTRAN IV and emphasizing ease of use, integrates various statistical techniques for analyzing individual items and the overall test, in addition to generating a variety of standard scores. The item analysis section includes such statistics as corrected-for-overlap point-biserial coefficients and a response grid for A, B, C, D, and E alternatives as well as omits. The statistics given in the test analysis section range from mean to standard error of kurtosis. The standard scores section offers many popular grade assignment techniques, ranging from basic frequency to normalized stanines. Restrictions include a maximum of 150 items and a need for approximately 256K. Availability of program and documentation are offered at cost.
