Abstract
A 25-item Likert-type survey scale which was constructed to measure teachers' attitudes toward mainstreaming was analyzed using item-response theory (IRT) and confirmatory factor analysis (LISREL). A three-factor model was shown to fit the data well. It is suggested that both factor scores and IRT scores can be used in discriminant analyses.
