Abstract
This article briefly overviews the evolution of juvenile rights in America. It highlights important legal cases and guiding philosophies that have contributed to the current foundations of varied legal representation schemes for children in abuse and neglect cases. The article also reviews these different models for representation of children and makes an argument that all children who are the subjects of child abuse and neglect cases should be entitled to legal representation.
