Abstract
This article focuses on the evolving nature of the rela tionship between the assis tant principal and principal. The relationship of the future suggests commitment to pro fessional development and to the educational profession as a whole. In essence, the prin cipal has a strong responsi bility to serve as a mentor for the assistant principal.
