Abstract
One-hundred-and-two patients undergoing sclerotherapy for varicose veins were randomized for the use of adhesive Molefoam (Scholl®) or traditional Sorbo pads (STD®) under the compression bandage. A total of 413 injections were performed. Molefoam was found to offer practical advantages over Sorbo pads and was associated with a lower incidence of minor skin irritation, which was seen only in patients sensitive to Elastoplast®. The use of Molefoam provides a helpful modification in compression sclerotherapy for lower limb varicose veins.
