Abstract
This article provides the first substantial empirical evidence that significant differences exist in participation in sport in Greece. The most disadvantaged groups were: (a) individuals with low levels of education, irrespective of their age and gender; (b) middle-aged and elderly females; (c) middle-aged and elderly married individuals; and (d) married females irrespective of their age. The implications of these results for policy and provision of sports services in Greece are discussed.
