Abstract
This research gives an extensive, general picture of the physical behavior of the Chinese population. It is evident, by the analysis of the many changes of social and economic factors (i.e. income, leisure time, diet/nutrition, psychological well-being, needs of the elderly, etc.), that there is a great potential for increasing physical activity in China. Therefore, it is only through extensive discussion and analysis that the most important strategies regarding the promotion of physical activity in China can be illustrated.
