Abstract
Although road traffic accidents involving children are common daily events it is only recently that the psychological consequences arising from such traumas have been investigated. This article summarizes the current research and highlights, by the use of case histories, the psychological reactions typically experienced by child traffic accident victims. Mental health services are not routinely provided to this group of children and the possible treatment implications are discussed.
