Abstract
A bound on longitudinal modulus of a multiphase reinforced composite body is deduced in this paper from “the circle diagram” [Sharma, R. and Ranjan, A. (2000). Elastic Properties of Reinforced Solids: Analogue of Mohr Circle Diagram, Journal of Reinforced Plastics and Composites, 19(14): 1147-1158] when the strain in the composite is not uniform. A circle diagram which describes the transverse property of the composite is also reported here and the corresponding bound on transverse modulus is obtained when the stress in the composite is not uniform. The mixture is assumed to possess the properties described in the literature.
