Abstract
The limited experience of many investigators leaves the impression that there are certain features unique to the personalities of alcoholics. How ever, scientific reports to date do not permit us to define such an alcoholic per sonality, or even to come to any substantial agreement as to what it may be like. It seems more likely that a number of personality types have a peculiar susceptibility to alcoholism. There is a great need for more effective techniques to continue the investigations.
