From Silence to Activism: Approaches to Research and Practice with Young Mothers

Abstract

This article discusses how four epistemological stances for social work practice and research with adolescent mothers constrain the voice of these young women and shape social work practice with them. In addition, it explores possible activist approaches to practice that take into account both critical and poststructural perspectives.
