Abstract

The research reported in this paper focuses on simulating the fatal time of a victim with a bullet wound in his chest. The idea is accomplished through the development of a digital simulation model by expansion and modification of the PHYsiological Simulation Benchmark Experiment (PHYSBE) analog model. The digital simulation program has been written in FORTRAN. It simulates the fatal time using different rates of bleeding from the left ventricle of the heart of a bullet wound victim. This simulation study may prove important and useful in various physiological and cardiovascular studies, rescue operations, biomedical engineering, clinical, and other research findings to help derive conclusions with greater confidence.
