Abstract
Growing popularity of simulation modelling has resulted in an increase in the number of simulation packages available on the software market. The selection of an inadequate software package can result in significant financial losses and in the disruption of simulation projects. SimSelect is a software system that provides a support to the users when selecting simulation software. It consists of a database linked to a user interface developed using Visual Basic 3.0. Following a specification of user's requirements, the system queries a database and finds a simulation package as well as alternatives suitable to the user. This paper provides an outline of SimSelect and its usability for simulation software users, and addresses its possible future improvements.
