Abstract
"Applications of artificial intelligence" was featured on page 306 in the June 1985 SIMULATION. A section titled, "Expert systems for industrial applications, by Warren Foster, looked at the basic perspective of artificial intelligence (Al) and how it is used in solving industrial problems. This current article focuses on the evaluation of six expert system shells that are currently available for in dustrial applications.
