Abstract
Arab Americans, an ethnically minoritized group in the United States and are historically marginalized understudied, thus their health needs have been poorly documented. We aim to examine the correlation between physical health and their commitment as well as fidelity in relationships. A sample of 204 Arab American individuals in romantic relationships were studied on age, gender, education, religion, as well as our variables of interest on physical health, commitment, and fidelity. The results of our study showed that physical health has positive and statistically significant associations with their fidelity towards partners, however, is not significantly associated with their partner's fidelity. Unexpectedly, we found that physical health is negatively correlated with their commitment. Clinical implications and future research directions will also be discussed.
