Abstract
Paul Shambroom is a widely acclaimed photographer who explores themes of space, power, security, and democracy in the United States. This interview engages the photographer on a range of themes including his unique and extensive study of the United States’ nuclear weapons complex, his more recent work on emergency response, and the memorialization of military service and conflict. It also raises questions about his creative practice and his relationship to politics.
